Picture of the Day -- 03/21/2009

LC with his head on the cat pillow!

A couple of Christmases ago, a friend gave us this little pillow which has a cat on it with the words "Never go to bed alone!"
Somehow it got down on the living room floor, and when I came out from my office, there LC was with his head on it, relaxing, which is one of his best talents!
I just had to take a picture!

(And by the way, our cats never let us go to bed alone, either. Put your legs under the blanket, and they just have to be right there sitting on top of your feet and weighting the covers down!)

Oh, that is priceless! LC must have known the pillow was for him. Her?

Our dogs are the same way, especially Shamgar, our Lhassa Ahpso. (sp?) He thinks the bed belongs to him, and he just shares it with us!

Actually, LC is an "it" -- bless his little heart! But otherwise he is a "him."

Sometimes I feel like I'm supposed to politely ask if I can put my feet somewhere without impacting Their Royal Highnesses! But in the middle of the night I have been known to vigorously kick all encumbrances right off the bed!! I have to say I prefer our cats on my feet to the cats who have to drape themselves across their owners' faces! I just could not take that!

Well now, I can't help but join in ...

Mini sleeps in her box under the kitchen table every night but 1st thing in the morning after Bruce takes her for a walk, she leaps on the bed, bounces up to my face and tries to stick her snout right in my mouth for a good morning kiss! At least, that's what I thought ...

I started to observe the behaviour and realized that every time I had been out of her sight for awhile she did the same thing.

Hmmm....

loving, affectionate dog? Somehow, I thought there was something more to it than that! After lengthy testings, trials and observations, Kinza and I have concluded that she can't stand the thought of not knowing what we've eaten when we are out of her sight!

I gave her a little "love" myself on Valentines' Day. After enduring the pain of a mouthful of tiny, potent, cinnamon hearts that are really meant to be eaten cautiously, one at a time, I breathed deeply on Powder-Puff. No more need be said! That's eNuff!

Oh, oh, oh! I just can't take that snout in the mouth thing! But it is just as I thought! It is all about food... Love the cinnamon hearts story, though. All you have to do to get the cats to back off is squeeze a bit of an orange skin in the air in their direction. Their eyes start squinting and they can't stand it! Now all we have to do is show them an orange, and they are out of there! Ha ha!

I feel bad talking so roughly about poor little Minno! She has been sleeping faithfully at my feet ALL evening as I work. She seems to know when I am over-loaded with stuff and sticks to me like glue! She is such a pet.

Just wait till you see how Nancy handles the snout to the lips thing! YUCK! :)

Oh, dear! I shall have to look the other way until someone tells me it is safe!! I know EXACTLY where those snouts have been, and that is the problem...

Oh, dear! Oh, dear! (I have to admit, though, I have heard that human mouths are much more germy than animal mouths. I don't know if it is true! How could it be?!)

Oh my GOODNESS!
That explains it all!
Mini has been feeling so bum recently!
