I have saved the best for last! Carol-Ann herself!
Ever since she was a teenager, Carol-Ann has been writing wonderful songs. I have always loved to hear them, and so I was delighted to find that she has put a couple of them on the internet. Here is one of them for you to enjoy -- "No Miracle."
Here are two links...
The story behind the song
The song
(No, she does not play her guitar backwards! She told me that she inadvertently recorded this in "mirror image!" Of course, since I know her so well, she just doesn't look right backwards, but you might not have known that if I hadn't spilled the beans ...unless, of course, you noticed that guitar pointing the wrong way!)

My oh my! I thought the "week" was over! My harp, dear sis, has been hanging on a willow now for many months. Thanks so much for this week of music. You'll just never know how much.
I got my guitar out of its case this morning and moaned at my inability. Kinza told me, "Mom, you have to practise!" So I scolded her that who did she think SHE was to turn the tables on her MOTHER and tell ME to practise! She ran out of the room laughing.
Ha ha ha! You two are so funny!
Believe me, I know what you mean about "my inability." Last week when Barry was in NJ, I had to actually do the laundry (!!), so I went downstairs several times when the dryer had a few minutes still to go. I sat down at the piano to play a bit while it was finishing the load, and I was glad no one else was home! (Pretty sad...)
Well, now the week is truly over! But I have gotten so much enjoyment out of it myself, Carol-Ann!
That was a lovely start to my day girls! And I must comment on the pictures of Carol-Ann and thought I was seeing Kinza there. Hope you had a great birthday CA.
Lovely song CarolAnn. Really enjoyed it.
Oh, Carol-Ann! What a beautiful story, and what a beautiful song! Thank you so much for sharing it. I loved getting to put a voice with your face, too. ;-)
Has anyone ever told you that you have an accent?
Of course, anybody who isn't from Texas has a funny accent. You do know that, don't you?
I wish we could all get together and have a song-fest. ;-)
Oh, and Jeanette, since this is your blog, I guess I should say hello to you, too! Thanks so much for posting this!
Such a beautiful story and song Carol-Ann, thank you! Thank you Jeanette for bringing it to us.
Hi ladies!
Thanks for all the comments!
Renae, I went back and listened to it again ... sorry! I couldn't detect one smidgen of an accent!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Louise!
Hi there, Renae! Thanks for acknowledging me!!
Speaking of accents, I am here to say that I am the expert on this, as I am part of both sides, and yes, Carol-Ann, there IS a smidgen of an accent, particularly noticeable when you said, "Even JESUS..." You have just a tad of a Canadian clip to your words, and you fit in beautifully.
I, on the other hand, don't quite fit in on either side! Here, people ask me to say "outhouse" just so they can snicker at the "ou" sound, twice in the same word! And there (in Canada), they say I drawl! What's a girl to do?? I can't seem to lose that telltale "ou" sound! I just can't bring myself to say "ow" as in "bow-wow!"
If I ever ask you to say "outhouse" just realize it's because I want to snicker over the fact that I grew up to own my own flush toilet -- two of them! :)
Well, y'all just don't hear ur own accents, becuz ur so used to them. I, on the other hay-und, don't have an accent.
(grins)
Love to all!
