PICTURE OF THE DAY -- 09/12/2008

Coral and L.C.

Here's what I saw last evening when I went to the living room. Coral was sitting in her wheelchair, and L.C. jumped up on the back of the recliner to be close to her.

When it is bedtime, Coral starts calling, "L-Seeee! L-Seee!" He comes running and jumps up on her knee for the ride to the bathroom where he gets a good session of petting and ear-rubbing before he has to get down.
He hardly fits on Coral's petite lap, but they both love this little ritual!

What a great start to the day! I just LOVE this post! It takes the prize of the year!

By the way ... do you have any idea where in Texas Renae is??? I woke up with her and her family on my mind! "Ike" sounds very serious!

Hi C-A! I'm glad you like this post! I also love my new header picture taken by Trent!

I believe Renae is in the Killeen/Temple area which is a bit south of Waco. From what I can tell on weather.com, they will have thunderstorms, rain, and strong wind, but I don't think they are in the direct path of Ike as it is predicted now. This storm is certainly setting up to be awful. I'm thinking that there may be lots of fleeing people in there area, as well. She said she will be at a writer's convention yesterday through Saturday, but she did not say where that is being held, so I don't know where she is right now.

I am here, all safe and dry! Thanks for checking on me - both of you!

I love this post, too! I agree, Carol-Ann, I think this is my favorite! Maybe I'll have to re-think my feelings about cats . . .

And I just love Coral's red hair. Did I every tell you about my stint as a red-head? Didn't last long. I kept saying dumb things, and people knew I was really a blonde . . .

I'm so glad you are safe, Renae!

I love Coral's red hair, too! Today she has it in a braid, and I might just have to take a picture to post! :) I don't remember your redhead story before! Thanks for the laugh! I'm having a really hard time imagining you as a dumb blonde, though! Blonde, yes, but dumb..uh uh!

I used to think I didn't like dogs, but Kinza's dog, Mini, and Gord and Paula's dog, Dandy, have helped me realize I can be very fond of them... so maybe you can like cats, too, even if it is at a distance!!

A blonde and a redhead met for dinner after work and were watching the 6 o'clock news. A man was shown threatening to jump from the Brooklyn Bridge. The blonde bet the redhead $50 that he wouldn't jump, and the redhead replied, "I'll take that bet!"

Anyway, sure enough, he jumped, so the blonde gave the redhead the $50 she owned. The redhead said, "I can't take this, you're my friend." The blonde said, "No. A bet's a bet."

So the redhead said, "Listen, I have to admit, I saw this one on the 5 o'clock news, so I can't take your money."

The blonde replied, "Well, so did I, but I never thought he'd jump again!"
