This is a building very close to our house.
For several days now, our temperatures have been in the single digits. The thermometer outside our dining room window says -0.9 degrees. Last night it was down to about -8. I think that might be about -20 Celsius. Everything is covered with snow, and it is definitely not melting! More snow is predicted later this week, so maybe we will be having a white Christmas this year!
This is just a quick post on my way to bed. I just finished the work that had to be back to the doctor in the morning, but I am still not caught up with other things. Maybe soon...

Thanks for the update re Coral in your comments on the last post --- I had to laugh! Nice to hear the spunk comin' back! We must be related -- I like the thought of the cushy life as well!
I'm officially on vacation for a month! Bruce asked me how I was planning to spend the 1st day today and I said I was gonna sit around ... which is exactly what I did: in the hospital with Mom. She had a horrible nose bleed but is OK now. The cauterized it, packed the offending nostril and sent us happily home. The whole ordeal lasted from 9:00ish this morning till 7:00ish tonight! I took her to the washroom in emerge ... she looked at her uncombed hair and blood soaked housecoat in the mirror and said, "Summer's Last Rose!"
Glad Coral's feeling better and thankful your Mom is alright. You my friend, rest as much as you can!
I'm glad Mom's OK too, Louise! You know, the old gal just doesn't quit! She has Parkinson's and is finding it difficult to write but she is in the middle of editing the manuscript of the biography of some missionaries to Quebec and on Saturday she proctored an exam for a seminary student. She would laugh to read that because in the doing of it she doesn't move a toe from the house so she doesn't feel like it is much. She also runs the tract ministry at church and makes sure there is a selection of tracts ordered and available in the tract rack for people to take to use in the community.
We have an amazing mother, C-A! She called me today to see if Coral is okay, so we had a nice chat. When I said I had heard that she had a terrible nosebleed, she seemed surprised and said, "My goodness! Word gets around quickly!" Thanks for keeping me posted, but what a way to spend your first day off! Of course, the other side of it is, how great that it happened when you were off and could spend the time without worrying about it...
I'm trying to take it easy, Louise. It is such a hard thing to do. I'm working so late at night, but during the day I have been taking good breaks. Napped in the recliner this afternoon. Coral was in her chair beside me, and Elmo was in his chair beside her! There we were, all lined up in a little row!
I'm off to bed now. My work is not all done, but I did a real power scrub of the bathroom this morning, so I am feeling pretty good about what got done today!
We're expecting 6 - 10 inches of snow come morning in MI ... I expect to be gratefully inside the next two days, and hope to make it to church on Sunday. No voice or not, I can still worship and smile at our friends.
