PICTURE OF THE DAY -- 06/02/2008

Jeanette, Gord, and Carol-Ann
Taken at Gord's wedding, 1980

I am leaving yesterday's pic here a little longer so we can see the changes in 5 years! My brother Gord married Paula, my husband Barry's sister. I was one of Paula's attendants, and Carol-Ann sang during the ceremony. We don't have too many pictures like this because we have been together all too seldom in our adult lives.

I feel so blessed at the moment to live close to my parents and my brother's family, and only about 3 hours from my husband's family. I know you miss them.

Ha!
I could pass on to you a third in this sequence -- only we weren't so gussied up!

By the way ... I was just getting ready to ask you how this archiving to old was working for the pic of the day! I actually thought about it during Trent's week because you left it unarchived for a bit. These daily pics have kinda become your posts and in a way it's nice to be able just to simply scroll back through them for the week. There ya go -- archive them once a week! :)

That's a good thought, C-A. And, on occasion, I could archive them sooner (except for the current) if I do the other kind of post just so it is not lost amongst the pictures...

If you have any other thoughts on this, let me know. Sometimes I leave it unarchived for awhile to let a commenter see that I answered just in case they don't get it by email or sometimes like today so the pictures can be compared. Yes, I guess these have become my posts, as I sometimes have a weekly theme and usually have a bit of a story or history to go with the picture.

Well, girl, is this a pic that we would all be thrilled to have posted as the third in the sequence??? I'm scared to see it!

Yes, Renae, it is a blessing first of all to have a family that gets along well and loves each other and forgives each other, and second it is a blessing to live close to such family members. I'm so glad that your family is like that, too!

It is Carol-Ann and my mother that I miss the most right now, as Gord and his family have lived close to us for the last 6 years or so. They did live in Liberia and then in New Jersey for many years, though, so for a great deal of our married life we did not have any physical family support. However, the Lord provided us with friends that filled the gap when Coral was little and we were struggling with many aspects of that.

What a blessing to have family that gets along ... I have siblings who won't talk to each other. So sad.
