PICTURE OF THE DAY -- 05/06/2008

Trent's cat, Tux.
He is playing on the little shelf on the TV stand, one of his favorite places.
He is almost like a little dog. When we go over to Trent's house, he is so happy to see us and comes running out meowing to greet us with his tail held high. I think he is the best cat ever! The flash is really reflecting in his eyes here.

(Trent took this picture last night with his new Nikon Coolpix camera and sent it to me by email.)

I just love the pictures you post Jeanette. My sister has 7 cats, all rescued and abandoned strays. She also feeds 3 outside cats that drop around to her back deck for a feast. The last two years 2 skunks and a racoon also joined the cats.
When Sam was alive my sisters cats never came too close to me when I visited, since Sam was somewhat vocal at their appearing. Now though, since I come alone, all her cats take their turns in coming to greet me. It is so cool !

We once had a cat named Dog. My husband named him that, because it came when you called it. My hubby said that made him a dog. :-)

The only other cat we ever owned was white, and we named her Vanna. (Get it? Vanna White?) She ran away. We didn't look very hard for her. We found out a while later she was living at a neighbor's house, and we never tried to get her back.

I guess we're just not cat people. :-)

Tux IS a beautiful cat, Louise! This picture just doesn't capture his shiny black coat, perfect amount of plumpness, his snapping eyes, and great personality!

I'm so glad you like my pictures, Nancy! It sounds like your sister's cats are winning you over!

Tux was abandoned on a private school campus near our home as an older kitten. Everyone knows we are "cat people," so we got a call asking if we would like him. Trent's cat had gone out one day and never came back which was pretty hard for him. So we decided to at least try this black and white cat out, and he is just perfect for Trent. Whoever abandoned him really lost a great cat. Tux has a strict no-going-outside rule imposed by his master!

I'm just splitting my sides laughing about your cat named Dog, Renae! Ha ha ha!! And Vanna, too! You guys have a wonderful sense of humor!
